Payment security and checkout checks
What Linker.page blocks at checkout, what only adds a hold, and how buyers or creators fix each case.
Two different systems
Checkout checks protect a single payment (tip or shop order). They do not “deactivate” your Linker.page account.
Payout / security locks pause withdrawals after risk events. Those show in Dashboard → Earnings with an unlock time and an email. See Payout holds and account reviews.
Hard blocks (payment is rejected)
There is nothing to “reactivate” on the seller side for these — the next valid attempt succeeds immediately.
- Self-payment: same logged-in account, same shopper, or the same email as the seller. Fix: buyer uses another email / logs out of the seller account. Creators cannot tip or buy from themselves.
- Disposable email: known temporary domains (Mailinator, Guerrilla Mail, etc.). Fix: use a permanent email and retry.
- Tor: connection flagged as Tor. Fix: turn off Tor and use a normal browser connection.
Soft signals (payment can proceed)
These usually force 3‑D Secure and may mark the tip/order for a short review hold (~14 days) before payout. They are not a ban.
- Shared home or café Wi‑Fi with the seller.
- Shared device / tablet with the seller dashboard.
- VPN or proxy (including some Private Relay / office VPN cases).
- Hosting / datacenter IP.
If you are a buyer or tipper
- Read the error on the checkout screen — it tells you what to change.
- Use a real email, disable Tor, and complete 3‑D Secure when asked.
- If you are family tipping a creator on the same Wi‑Fi, use your own phone and email; the tip should go through.
If you are a seller
- Checkout blocked for a supporter ≠ your account is closed.
- If Earnings shows a payout lock, wait for the unlock date or email support@linker.page.
- Respond to Stripe disputes and complete identity requests promptly.
- After changing your bank account, expect a short payout cooldown.
